Friday Faves!

I finally got around to do another Friday Favorites post!  This one is all about the food I've been loving this week.

Of course, what pregnant woman can pass up dessert?  This slice of heaven is Key Lime Pie is from Up the Creek Raw Bar in Apalachicola. It was the perfect slice... creamy and tangy.   Since I can't drink, dessert is my happy hour.  I think I will be making my own Key Lime Pie very soon.

I am obsessed with Frank's!  It's a must on my morning eggy toast.  It's also really good on popcorn, trust me.

Since I've been against chicken on my salad lately (which was my protein of choice since forever), I've been eating tempeh from Trader Joe's.  I've been preparing it super easily... just slice it up, drizzle some honey on it, and nuke it for about 40 seconds.  Then it's ready to dump onto a salad.

Last but certainly not least are Trader Joe's Milk Chocolate Jumbles.  Don't buy this if you hate awesomeness.  It's sweet, chocolatey, and crunchy with a hint of saltiness at the end.  I try to limit myself to 1 a day, but it's very hard to reject a 2nd one.

The Ravenous Baby: 14 Weeks

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!  I meant to do a post yesterday, but Wyatt was not having nap time...grr.  That makes for a very tired mommy.  By the time he went to sleep last night I was completely exhausted.

But I'm happy to say I'm in the 2nd Trimester!  I'm starting to look pregnant, which is a relief since I basically looked like I was always coming back from a buffet pig-out for the past 2 months.  Here is how my 14th week is going so far...

How far along? 14 weeks + 1 day

Food size: Lemon

Total weight gain/loss: 4.4 lbs

Exercise: Got in 5 workouts!  2 BodyPump classes, 1 Zumba, 1 day with some Treadmill and Weights, and a 3 mile walk.

Sleep/Dreams:  Vivid pregnancy dreams are back this week.  I had a really freaky dream where very large spiders were trying to attack me, not fun!

Movement: Not yet

Symptoms: Had a 24 hour period with headaches, ugh!  Some mild cramping yesterday.

Food cravings: I want to slather butter on everything.

Food aversions:  I'm still not really into cold chicken, but I did eat it once and tolerated it.

Maternity Clothes:  Still not really wearing any, but I have some very forgiving shorts.  I just got a delivery from Gap & Target.  The Gap shorts are a return, boo.  But I kept the dress & bathing suits from Target.  Looking forward to getting my 1st Stitchfix next week!

Belly Button/ Stretch Marks: Still in, and none yet.

Gender: We find out on June 29!

What I miss: Publix Ultimate Sub, every time I pass a Publix I think about how badly I want one.

Best moment this past week:  Having the hubby home for a long 3 day weekend, and having my Dad & Stepmom here for a visit.

What I am looking forward to this week:  We are off to Destin for the weekend, woohoo!

Do you have any beach vacations planned for the summer? Have you been to Destin? Any recommendations there?

The Ravenous Baby: 13 Weeks

Thanks everyone for all the love!  We are so thrilled to be expecting another member of the family.  I can't believe I'm almost out of the first trimester.  It seems to be going by a lot faster this time... maybe because I have a rowdy toddler to chase around?  He won't even stop moving to let me take a picture...

How far along? 13 weeks today

Food size: Peach

Total weight gain/loss: 2.2 lbs

Exercise: Got in 4 workouts!  2 BodyPump classes, 1 Zumba, and 1 day with some Elliptical/Stair Mill

Movement: Nothing yet!  Maybe soon since this is Baby #2?

Symptoms: Not many this week!  But definitely feeling bloated.

Food cravings: Cheese... lots of it!  I craved cheese a lot with Wyatt too.

Food aversions:  Cold chicken, the thought of it kinda grosses me out.  I used to eat chicken salads almost every day for lunch, but I can't even think about it now without getting a little queasy.

Maternity Clothes:  About to break them out.  But since last time I was preggo in winter, I'll have to get some new pieces to add to the wardrobe... darn ;)

Belly Button/ Stretch Marks: Still in, and none yet!

Gender: Still don't know, but the ultrasound tech thought it was a boy.  Jay said he is "100% sure" the baby is a boy.  We will see!

What I miss: Sushi & sake nights.  I want my raw fish fix.

Best moment this week:  Seeing the baby on the ultrasound, always amazing!

What I am looking forward to this week: Visit from the fam, it will be a great Memorial Day weekend.

Wyatt Has Some Big News!

The blog has not been too busy lately, but life has been exciting around our household for sure!  Wyatt wants to share something with everyone (as you can see he is bursting with joy)...

Our newest addition is scheduled to arrive around November 24th!  It's been so hard to keep the news in over the past months.  It has been especially nerve-wracking since we had a loss in January.  But we just had a first trimester ultrasound and everything looks perfect.  Our little nugget was squirming around and had perfect measurements.  As you can see... the ultrasound technician made a guess that baby #2 is a boy... but that is yet to be determined.

How far along are you?  I am on my last day of week 12 today.

When did you find out?  On March 20th, my period was 2 days late... it was a Friday and I was planning on indulging on vast quantities a few glasses of wine.  I wanted to take a test mostly to rule it out, I did not think I was pregnant.  It was an exciting morning!

Were you trying?  Actually no.  We tried for 4 months when I miscarried.  My ob/gyn said to wait 2 months after my period returned to try again.  But only one month after aunt flo came back we were preggo!  It was a little unexpected but awesome.

How are you feeling?  Pretty great for the most part!  I have been extremely lucky.  I've only felt a little mild nausea.  Fatigue has come and gone, but seemed alot more tolerable during this pregnancy.  The worst I've felt was maybe a couple weeks ago, when I think I had a headache almost every day.

More info to come tomorrow, for my 13 week update... See ya then!
